Digital Sisterhood Radio’s December 27th episode featured a discussion with CiviliNation founder Andrea Weckerle about civil digital discourse. Andrea shared a tremendous amount of information about CiviliNation, an education and research organization focused on advancing the full capability of individuals to communicate and engage in cyberspace in a responsible and accountable way. She passionately stated that CiviliNation is a strong supporter of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution because it seeks to build an online culture that allows people to practice free speech in an open environment without fear or threat of being the target of unwarranted abuse, harassment, or lies. Andrea gave the audience a preview of CiviliNation’s 2011 projects: “The State of Online Hostility” Report and Online Hostility Repository. She invited the audience to become volunteer ambassadors of CiviliNation’s campaign to take a stand for civil digital discourse. I signed up on the spot and plan to create a video in early 2011. Please consider joining the effort. For more information, email Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org. Click here to learn more about CiviliNation. Watch CiviliNationTV on YouTube.
